If you wanted small, light & raw power in a laptop, Sony Vaio’s SZ used to be the clear winner. The successor to SZ is Z, which still holds that crown. Although along with Z, Sony also launched its new SR series. This 13.3″ laptop weighs under 2 Kg, and can not only go head to head with its big brother in terms of performance, but also save you loads of money.

Sure there is no carbon fibre chassis or dual graphic card option .. but the value for money it offers is exceptional. With its sleek contours, fast performance, isolated keyboard design, which is easier to type as well as to clean .. along with all the latest features to sought out for in a laptop, including 802.11n, Bluetooth, Fingerprint reader etc, Vaio SR does not leave much out. The only shortcoming I could really find was the lack of digital video output, and DDR3 RAM. Even though the latter is treatable by replacing the RAM once it becomes cheaper.

Sony’s last attempt at budget 13″, the C series, was a disappointment .. primarily because it was a bulky, low performance machine with average looks. With SR, they’ve struck the right balance by making the laptop sleek, light & powerful. The following model comes preloaded with good old Windows XP Professional along with the option of Free Windows Vista Business. For more details, visit the link below.
