MID is a new breed of small, cheap notebook computers, which are supposed to have the following pros & cons
Pros
- Inexpensive
- Small (Screen size preferably under 10″)
- Light (Weight under 3 lbs)
- Low power consumption (Approx 5-10W)
Cons
- Mediocre Performance
- Poor Multitasking
- No Integrated Optical Drive (at the moment)
So basically you should be buying this machine if all you want to do is opening up word, excel .. or checking your email or surfing the net. Our experience in dealing with clients tells us that most people would be like .. hey, that is all we do. Which is true actually .. but the catch is the many people would be doing *all* this at the same time, which makes these machine a wrong buy for them.
These machine are by no means workhorses that shine when you’re multitasking by running a lot of applications. If you’re one of those, then look elsewhere .. buy a dual core or better yet a core2duo machine as you may find these machines very sluggish when pushed. However, if you’re one of those users who normally do just one thing at a time, and your usage is basic, then this just might be what you’ve been waiting for.
